Derek Jeter is one of the 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011, at least according to journalist and gargoyle, Barbara Walters. While I am a Yankee fan and a Derek Jeter fan, this might be the biggest outrage since his Gold Glove in 2010.
Jeter is a Hall-Of-Famer, one of the best Yankee players ever, and possibly the best shortstop ever. He couldn’t be less fascinating. He isn’t the most fascinating person on his team. He isn’t even the most fascinating on the left side of the infield. He is notorious for being one of the worst interviews in sports since he never gets personal. Sure he’s dated hot women, but he’s private. He’s not going to divulge intimate secrets about Minka Kelly, joke about how crazy Mariah Carey was, or tell us the difference between Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel.
I don’t expect the fans of The View to really be into Derek Jeter, since the list of interview questions will be,
1) So you’ve dated a lot of hot women?
2) Tell me about the art of hitting to the opposite field.
Maybe Barbara doesn’t know what fascinating means, because the rest of the fascinating lineup is pretty boring. If I had to write up the Least Fascinating People of 2011, most of these people would be on it.
Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian– So you all have names that start with K? Tell me about your fragrance line?
Katy Perry– You sometimes have blue hair? Outrageous!
Pippa Middleton– Tell me about the time you looked hot at your sister’s wedding?
Jennifer Lopez– How crazy was the making of that Fiat commercial?
Donald Trump– What year is this?
This show doesn’t look promising. I’ll probably just fast-forward to the interview with Justin Bieber.
