2011 Week 5 Fantasy Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em

Will Victor Cruz save the day? (espn.com)

By this point, I really hope you are following my weekly recommendations. Those of you who are putting on a smoke show in your league by wisely benching Mark Sanchez (35 points the week before and -4 points this week) and Reggie Bush are happy with me right now. Owners who desperately needed a running back and tight end with very little available in their league and picked up Willis McGahee and Kevin Boss, probably look pretty smart right now. This weeks players are sure to please as well, even though the start’em players are most likely still available on your waiver wire. Here they are:

Start ‘Em

QB: Alex Smith

RB: Stevan Ridley

WR: Victor Cruz

TE: Heath Miller

DEF: New York Football Giants

Sit ‘Em

QB: Josh Freeman

RB: James Starks

WR: Lance Moore

TE: Kevin Boss

DEF: 49ers

Feel free to compare and contrast.

I was too young to fully appreciate the championships the Mets won in 1986 and the Giants won in 1990, but was fully appreciative of the Giants 2007 Super Bowl win. I count 2-3-08 as one of the best days of my life. I moved to Boston with a few coworkers of mine that I hardly knew and took a big chance of moving to a city I barely knew anything about. I got along well with my roommates and my new city and decided to make it my permanent home, despite having difficulties following my favorite teams, due to living so far away from New York. I am extremely passionate about sports and will discuss the Giants Super Bowl win over the Patriots anytime, anyplace and with anybody. I am a social worker in the day and sports writer by night. I enjoy slaving over my laptop writing about sports. My ultimate dream would be to become a professional Texas Hold'em player.
